A Few Brief Motion Picture Reviews To Check Out

By Rodney Duran

It wasn't that long ago that a trip to the corner video shop was the most convenient way to get a movie. As technologies have advanced, downloading dvds off movie download sites is becoming very common. Let's look at what you might find to watch using a movie download site.

The Last Samurai: This is a true epic story of a lost soldier who winds up fighting a war in a far away land. Hired by the emperor of Japan to train his army, he is quickly captured by the Samurai he was training the army to defeat. Living amongst these great people he comes to believe in the way of the Samurai. He winds up fighting on their side, with all of his heart.

Batman and Robin: The villain Mr. Freeze is trying to take over Gotham City, by freezing the town into submission. With the beautiful villain Poison Ivy trying to form a rift between Batman and Robin, the duo has a lot to deal with. As always they somehow find a way to come out on top.

Nightmare on Elm Street Four: Refreshed by flaming mutt urine, Freddy Krueger ultimately kills all the kids of those who initially burned him to death, and looks for new teenagers to terrorize, although he's challenged by a "fantasy master," his metaphysical counterpart. Series was showing its age by this point. Cast includes Renny Harlin, Robert Englund, Rodney Eastman, Danny Hassel, Andras Jones, Tuesday Horseman, Toy Newkirk, Ken Sagoes, Brooke Theiss, and Lisa Wilcox. (92 minutes, 1988)

Iron Will: Kid enters a Winnipeg-to-St. Paul dog-sled race in the WW1 era. The outcome is so predictable that you nearly anticipate everything that will happen from to start to finish. Cast includes Mackenzie Astin, Kevin Spacey, August Schellenberg, David Ogden Stiers, Brian Cox, George Gerdes, and John Terry. (109 minutes, 1994)

Cuba Crossing: Our lead man Stuart Whitman becomes embroiled in a plot to take out Fidel Castro. Filmed in Key West, Florida, and a minimum of the landscape is pretty. Cast includes Stuart Whitman, Robert Vaughn, Caren Kaye, Raymond St. Jacques, Woody Strode, Sybil Danning, Albert Salmi, and Michael Gazzo. (90 minutes, 1980)

The Cuckoos: Following their prosperity in Rio Rita, RKO rapidly teamed up Wheeler and Woolsey for this similar musical comedy in regards to the ventures of 2 fake fortune tellers who get mixed up with gypsies. Cast includes Bert Wheeler, Robert Woolsey, June Clyde, Hugh Trevor, and Dorothy Lee. (97 minutes, 1930)

The Crush: Ludicrous thriller in reference to a twenty-something year old reporter Elwes who becomes the target of a pretty, compulsive fourteen-year-old Lolita Silverstone. The young reporter soon sees that the young girl has a crush on him. Cast includes Cary Elwes, Alicia Silverstone, Jennifer Rubin, Amber Benson, Kurtwood Smith, and Gwyneth Walsh. (89 minutes, 1993)

The In Laws: Everyone can relate to this uncomfortable situation. The in laws are coming and you just have to survive. Don't try this at home! Unrated rendition runs 93. Cast includes Peter Falk, Alan Arkin, Richard Libertini, and Nancy Dussault. (103 minutes, 1964)

The Truman Show: Truman Burbank starts to get a strange feeling. He can't quite explain it, but something just isn't right. It turns out that Truman is right. In fact everyone else in town is an actor, and every day is The Truman Show.

Okay, if you're looking for downloads, try phrases like "Video Game Downloads". If that phrase gets you nowhere, try another phrase. Try "Rent DVD Online" next.
