The GAME - Let us start by asking, where did the game of paintball come from? It is indeed one of the top extreme games of the world today, but how did it become so popular? Well, it doesn't go that much far.
It started just way back in the 80's, as it was first used, not for the game, but for long range marking of trees. It was then during that time they had realized that it could also be fun if they would fire it also on to themselves. And there came to birth the first gamers: Bob Gumsey, Hayes Noel, Charles Gaine, and Ritchie White on 1981. According to dated records, it was then Ritchie White who won the game of "capture the flag", collecting all the flag without shooting a fire.
Since that day on, the sport was born. Charles Gaine and a man named Caleb Strong in 1982 initiated the building of the first ever outdoor field for paintball in Rochester, New York. And with that to start, no longer after, an indoor field was also made along with different tournaments being held ("DC CUP", NPPL - National Professional Paintball League Pro-Am Tournament, etc). The game of paintball truly spread through different countries since it started. For following the time charts, it is with today that over 60 countries is playing this sport. And to add, as per record dating back from 1993 this game of paintball is already noted as the world's third extreme sport.
The GUN - Alongside the popularity if the game, it is no surprise that the markers have also progressed. From the old manual guns, which were inherently made as tree markers, to the more technical and automatic types intrinsically designed now for the game itself. Through the time table of these markers we can see the evolution of the guns. Several markers were given birth along the game of paintball such as the pump paintball guns, stock-paintball guns, semi-automatic paintball guns, and the most recent electric paintball guns.
Indeed these guns vary from one specific to another. We may start comparing from the first ever guns used for the game- the pump paintball gun. As what I have said, these guns are the original guns used on the early games, thus these guns are the simplest of all the guns developed for paintball. A pump paintball gun is a single-shot per pump and trigger gun which is manually operated and can only hold at least 10 round of ammos in it. It is one of the uncomplicated types of guns and durable as it is during the days. Skipping through time though, we have today the electric paintball gun or the "e-gun". This type of gun varies from the pump paintball guns greatly because this gun is automatically handled and electrically powered. Unlike the pump paintball gun also, an "e-gun" can hold more ammos than the previous. It is a much easier and technical type gun for players.
It doesn't stop there though, as the game is still on its continuous acceptance throughout the world, makers of these guns won't also stop in improving their equipments. Making these babies more durable and top-class for the gamers, be it in amateur or professional fields.
