Power Rankings: Top 3 NBA Teams

By Remy Galachis

Los Angeles Lakers

Kobe Bryant lately turned 31 (on eight/23), however he's just in his prime. His franchise concluded the -09 season in ethereal style.

The Lakers are recently off acquiring Ron Artest and re-signing Lamar Odom. Andrew Bynum and the Lakers agreed to a worthwhile $58 million agreement last season and, if he should remain fit, might possibly emerge as a "regular" game-changing factor in the paint (offensively and defensively).

And if this weren't enough for Kobe, he has moreover got Pau Gasol and one of the greatest coaches in NBA history.

Orlando Magic

They're deep, especially at the center position. With the signings of Vince Carter and Ryan Anderson (by means of the Courtney Lee/Rafer Alston/Tony Battie deal), the acquisition of (Jason) Williams (for point guard experience), Brandon Bass, and Matt Barnes, the re-signing of Marcin Gortat, and the return of Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis, Jameer Nelson, and Mickael Pietrus, the Magic are looking rather more such as the despicable desperado they turned out to be in the Eastern Conference Championship.

Though now, they are aiming for a championship. Howard even forced himself and Nelson to sit in on the Lakers' revelry, in an effort to prevent undergoing a comparable type of disappointment.

San Antonio Spurs

They picked up yet another under-the-radar competitor in this year's draft, passed on by other organizations for an injury he was hit with during high school.

I'm talking, of course, with respect to DeJuan Blair. You know, the man who ninja flipped Hasheem Thabeet, this season's No. two pick (overall), as if he was a Raggedy Ann doll.

So, with the signings of Richard Jefferson and experienced players Antonio McDyess and Theo Ratliff, the Spurs are seeming even more fearsome from the perimeter, and less vulnerable in the paint (when Duncan needs to sit; whether for rest or to avoid potential injury).

Call 'em run down, call 'em dull, even Eva Longoria-Parker is a fan of the black and silver. After all, could you essentially be bad with a franchise filled entire of battle-tested veterans?
